Services Provided

At the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, we offer evaluation and management in the treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults suffering from eating disorders. This includes medical, psychological, and nutritional services:

  • Each patient will receive a comprehensive medical evaluation and appropriate laboratory tests.
  • Each patient will be monitored for progress in his or her physical and psychological recovery throughout the treatment process.
  • We will prescribe necessary psychotropic medication when needed and closely monitor the patient’s response.
  • We work with local and regional networks of psychiatrists, psychologists, nutritionists, pediatric sub-specialists, and other health professionals with experience in the treatment of eating disorders.
  • We will make referrals to other professionals as needed.
  • We offer inpatient services for stabilization of medical and psychiatric crisis and for nutritional rehabilitation when needed.
