Carol Huber, R.N., BS, IBCLC

Carol graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and then continued on to earn a diploma in nursing at Touro Infirmary School of Nursing in New Orleans. After graduation, she worked in the NICU and newborn nursery. She began teaching childbirth and baby care classes shortly thereafter. She is a certified lactation consultant and continues to teach classes and assist breastfeeding mothers today. She and her husband, Murray, live in Franklin and are the proud parents of 4 wonderful children.
Marcia Hughes, R.N.
Lactation Consultant
Marcia G. Hughes RN, MSN, CLE received her BSN from Harris College of Nursing of Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX and her MSN in Maternal/Child w/ secondary focus in Education from Troy State University Montgomery Campus in Montgomery, AL. Initially her many years of nursing experience centered on the Medical/Surgical areas and the Operating Room. She moved to the Maternal Child areas of NBN and Postpartum areas in 1989. Marcia became a Certified Lactation Consultant in 1990. She has had the wonderful opportunity to design and implement several comprehensive Lactation programs across the United States. She has worked as an independent contractor in Lactation and has had her own pump rental station in the past as well. She loves teaching new moms about their babies and loves being a LC. She is on target to repeat her IBCLC credentials in July 2010. She is married to Mike, a nurse as well and whose military career took them to live in many different states. They both enjoy working as a nurse. They are the proud parents of 2 daughters, have a wonderful son-in-law and are new grandparents to precious Austin born 12/09. They reside in Franklin.

Betty McDaniel, R.N., IBCLC

Betty McDaniel RN, IBCLC received her Associates degree in nursing from Shelby State Community, Memphis, TN, in 1986. She has worked in an adult sub-acute, NICU, and Pediatric home care setting. In 1997, Betty received her certification in lactation from the International Board of Lactation Consultants and began practicing as a hospital based lactation consultant. She began work at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in 1999. Betty's caseload includes healthy newborns as well as infants in level 3-4 NICU. She is a proud mother of three daughters and seven grandchildren
Kathy Myers, R.N., BSN, IBCLC
Lactation Consultant
Kathy graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oklahoma Baptist University. Most of her nursing career has been in the area of Maternal / Child nursing including, Labor and Delivery, Newborn Nursery, Obstetrics, and NICU but also includes Pediatrics in-hospital as well as home health. She also has enjoyed teaching childbirth and parenting classes in the hospital and out in the community. She received her certification in lactation from the International Board of Lactation Consultants in 1998. She is relatively new to Vanderbilt and considers it an honor to bring experience she has gained from practicing in several states as well as around the world to this incredible facility. Kathy lives in Murfreesboro, TN with her loving and supportive husband who are the proud parents of their 2 wonderful boys.
Audra Sparkman, R.N., IBCLC
Lactation Consultant
Audra graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in nursing. At that time she came to Vanderbilt and worked as a registered nurse in the pediatric intensive care unit for 1 year and in the newborn nursery for 8 years. I began working as a lactation consultant in April 2008. I love my job! I live in Murfreesboro with my husband Derek and two children Lillian and Sam :)
