Time and again, you’ll hear the administrators, specialists, and staff at Children’s Hospital refer to our “family-centered” approach to healthcare for children. We take this commitment very seriously, and enlist the help of a group of parents known as the Family Advisory Council to keep us accountable.
Members of the Family Advisory Council consist of families who have had a child hospitalized at Children’s Hospital. Their primary job is to collaborate with hospital staff to improve patient and family satisfaction with the care received. The Council serves as a vital link between the hospital and the community.
The Family Advisory Council is made up of parents and hospital staff who:
- Identify family concerns and priorities
- Promote Family-Centered Care
- Offer input in planning programs and policies
- Create educational and support resources for families and healthcare providers
