The Pediatric, Obstetric, and Nursing Departments at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Children's Hospital are committed to breastfeeding. This commitment is demonstrated by providing every mother and her infant(s) an environment that includes:
- Education for the lay and professional communities
- Clear, consistent and supportive information to the mother from all VUMC and Children's Hospital health care providers
- Promotion of nursing and medical practices in the hospital that are recognized as conducive to and supportive of successful breastfeeding
- Support for continued breastfeeding after discharge from the hospital.
As a result, we are pleased to offer the following services to breastfeeding mothers and families:

Medela Lactina breastpump rentals ($15 per week minimum or $50 per month, or $150 for 4-months then $40 per month)
