Hospitalist Program

The Hospitalists are involved in developing and managing many aspects of hospital operations such as patient safety, inpatient flow and quality assurance programs. The Pediatric Hospitalist Program is available for immediate telephone consultation or for management of patients who require hospitalization due to problems within the broad scope of general pediatrics—all in collaboration with the primary care physician.

The Pediatric Hospitalist Program provides:

  • Immediate, easy access to a member of our staff for urgent phone consultation and/or hospital referral.
  • Optimal contact with the referring physician. We believe that communication between hospitalist and referring physician(s) is of paramount importance.
  • A familiar and consistent approach to inpatient and outpatient care.
  • A consultative resource for physicians. All patients are returned to the referring physician for ongoing care.
  • High-quality, family-centered care, in the tradition of Children's Hospital.
