The Williamson County chapter of Friends of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt and Belk at Cool Springs held their 20th annual Friends and Fashion event on Monday, March 29, 2010.
Over 550 guests attended the event, themed "Project FrontRow," which raised a record-breaking $73,000 for the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology through ticket sales to the fashion show and Patron’s Party, auction proceeds and outright gifts.
In addition to the Friends and Fashion show featuring professional models walking alongside Children's hospital patients or siblings, the event featured the first ever Patron's Party. The highlight of the Patron's Party was a live auction, where attendees had the opportunity to bid on unique items such as red wagons, typically used to pull around Children's Hospital patients, filled with toys.
This year's event was a success because of the leadership of Julie Casteel and Linzi McConnell, co-presidents of Friends (Williamson County), the dedication of all the Friends members who volunteered at the event and the enthusiasm of our guests for supporting the mission of Children's Hospital.
We look forward to seeing you at next year's Friends and Fashion event. For more information about how you can get involved as a volunteer with Friends and Fashion, e-mail FriendsOfChildrensHospital@Vanderbilt.edu.
