Primary Care Clinic

The Children's Hospital Primary Care Clinic is a resident-staffed clinic that provides comprehensive sick and well-child care to children from birth through adolescence. The clinic serves as a medical home for the patients in the practice, working to be the first and only place patients and families seek routine health care. Families have the option to choose a resident physician or nurse practitioner as their regular care provider. All of our staff work under the direction of attending physicians.

The clinic offers the following services to patients in the practice :

Comprehensive well visits

  • Clinic visitHealth education and counseling
  • Physical examinations
  • Hearing and vision screening
  • All routine childhood immunizations
  • EPSDT services (Early Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment)
  • Pre-school and sports physicals
  • Referrals to specialists and specialties, as needed
  • On-site social work and interpreter services (for some languages)
  • On-site case management for children needing comprehensive care.
  • 24 hour a day/ 7 day a week phone coverage for medical questions (emergency calls only after hours) at 615.936.2555.

Sick visits

If your child is a patient in the practice and is sick, call us first at 615.936.2555!  

Our clinic is available by appointment Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. We have a Saturday clinic available for our sick children from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  As noted above, we provide phone coverage for clinic patients at all times.  (We regret that we cannot provide phone advice for patients who do not belong to our practice.)
