Patient Affairs

Our Mission
The Office of Patient Affairs exists to serve as the patient's intermediary and to create a caring environment to facilitate the flow of information between visitors and the hospital community. The Office of Patient Affairs consists of Patient Advocacy.

Patient Advocacy
Patient Advocates in the Office of Patient Affairs are available to assist you with any questions, needs, or concerns you may have about your visit to Children's Hospital. Your advocate can assist you in the following ways:

  • Address questions or concerns you may have about your care.
  • Serve as a formal grievance mechanism for you and your family.
  • Receive compliments for outstanding physicians and staff members.
  • Provide information about advance directives.
  • Assist you in exercising your health care rights.
  • Clarify medical center policies.
  • Bridge the gap where you feel your expectations have not been met.

It is our hope that through these efforts you and your family will have a positive experience at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
