Early Childhood Anger Management Clinic

Persistent aggression during the early years is a risk factor for violence later in life. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that all young children be screened for aggression and counseling be provided as indicated. The Anger Management Clinic is a consultation clinic that specializes in the evaluation and management of children less than seven years of age with aggression and anger management problems.

Contributing factors will be reviewed and treatment will be individualized.  In general, pharmacological therapy will not be used, and there will be a strong emphasis on teaching behavior modification strategies. Visits generally last 60-90 minutes, and it is preferable for all primary caregivers to attend.  Pertinent medical records should be faxed or mailed prior to the visit.

The clinic is located on the 8th floor of the Doctors' Office Tower located within the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt.
