Our team consists of occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech language pathologists.  Each discipline provides assessment, consultation and treatment for infants, children and adolescents.

  • We understand that the family and caregivers play an important role in the progress of each child’s success.
  • We ensure that the family and caregivers are involved in creating the treatment plan.
  • We provide parent training as well as home programs throughout the course of treatment.

therapist with babyThe Department of Rehabilitation Services offers occupational therapy (OT), physical therapy (PT) and speech therapy (ST) to patients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease or other causes.  We provide therapy for children who have athletic injuries and are anxious to return to their normal activities and the game they love.  We are actively involved with the multi-disciplinary team to meet patient care outcomes and system improvement objectives.

Our services are provided in collaboration with professionals from the Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center, the Vanderbilt Kennedy Center, and the Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital. Team members provide assessment, consultation, and care for children who require therapeutic intervention.  Our team is involved with the medical, therapeutic, and support services delivered to children in the inpatient, outpatient, and developmental preschool environment.
