Capers Garage has been renamed South Garage as Parking Services gears up for the opening of the new Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt.

Almost 450 spaces were opened up in the new South Garage for visitor parking, bringing the total number of patient and visitor parking spaces up to 750. When the hospital opens, South Garage will offer valet services, special Emergency Department visitor parking, as well as special parking areas for community physicians and faculty physicians who must frequently come and go.

"There are no parking concerns as far as capacity at this time," said Gene Ornes, director of Medical Center Traffic and Parking. "And there are still spaces available in upper levels of the garage for additional staff and faculty members."
