Children's Diabetes ProgramThe Children's Diabetes Program at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is an integral part of the Vanderbilt Eskind Diabetes Clinic. It provides comprehensive diabetes care to more than 2,000 children with diabetes from Middle Tennessee and seven surrounding states.  

Integration of pediatric and adult services in a single clinic creates an environment that enhances both diabetes care and research. Seamless transition of patients from pediatric to adult diabetes care is possible in this unique clinic setting.

What is diabetes?
Diabetes is one word that describes many different diseases. In all of these diseases, the body is unable to make or use the hormone insulin to control blood sugar. We follow patients with all types of diabetes. Learn more about your specific type of diabetes.

Who cares for diabetes?
The Eskind diabetes clinic employs a large team to help you and your child manage your diabetes.  These dedicated professionals include medical doctors, nurses and nurse practitioners, as well as social workers, dietitians, and specialists in child life.
